Role and requirements
They are looking for an enthusiastic Kennel Assistant for their busy daycare facility. You will work under the direction of a qualified team and be responsible for providing consistent care and enrichment for canine guests, including feeding and maintaining high hygiene standards.
To be considered for this role, you must:
- Be able to drive; the role includes driving their dog bus
- Be over 23 years of age with a full, clean driving license and at least two years of driving experience
- Ideally hold Animal Care Level 2/3, but candidates with dog-care experience and a willingness to train will be considered
The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and owners when required. The role is physically demanding and involves being on the move during shifts.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent care and enrichment to all daycare and boarding dogs
- Check dogs in and out of the service
- Clean kennels and maintain high standards of hygiene
- Perform general housekeeping duties (e.g., laundry and cleaning)
- Update feed, medication, and other records
Working hours
30 hours per week over 5 days, including some weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis. Shift times are between 7am and 7pm, approximately 6 hours per day. There may be additional hours to cover staff absences or busy periods.
