Scope Of Position

Assist senior chefs in the preparation and service of pastry and bakery items, ensuring the highest standards and strict adherence to recipes. Mandated responsibilities include keeping designated kitchen areas, equipment and utensils clean and tidy in accordance with hotel standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow methods, preparation and recipe standards.
• Be environmentally conscious and work towards a low‑waste operation.
• Contribute to effective management of costs and seek zero waste factors.
• Ensure correct storage and labelling of food, equipment and dry goods.
• Maintain correct stock rotation and ordering levels via appropriate channels.
• Work as required on a rota basis.
• Assume additional duties in the absence of line manager or senior employee.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in different departments or restaurants.
• Identify and report potential and real hazards immediately.
• Follow departmental fire, emergency and bomb procedures.
• Anticipate possible hazards and correct them or pre‑plan defenses.
• Encourage general awareness of health and safety within the department.

Qualifications

• Proven track record providing high levels of service under pressure.
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills, written and spoken.
• Willingness to contribute to a 24‑hour operational schedule when required.

Desirable

• Previous experience within a luxury hotel environment working with LQA, Forbes 5★ or equivalent standards.
