The Deputy Director, Technology Delivery and Products is a leadership role responsible for end-to-end ownership of technology delivery and product outcomes across the organisation. The role ensures that technology initiatives are delivered as scalable, secure, and well-adopted products, with strong engineering discipline and measurable business impact. This role plays a critical part in transforming technology delivery into a disciplined, product-oriented organisation, working closely with business leaders, the CTO Office, and Technology Operations. It is responsible for enabling the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure digital and AI-enabled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Ownership & Business Outcomes
- Own and manage the full product lifecycle from definition and design through build, scale, and optimisation
- Translate business demand into clear product roadmaps, backlogs, and delivery scope
- Drive measurable business outcomes, value realisation, and user adoption
- Establish structured product governance, release planning, and lifecycle discipline
- Technology Delivery Execution
- Lead predictable, high-quality delivery of enterprise systems, digital platforms, and AI-enabled solutions
- Enforce delivery standards covering Agile/DevSecOps practices, coding, testing, quality, and release management
- Manage delivery performance across timeline, scope, cost, and quality
- Build a strong root cause analysis culture, reducing recurring defects and delivery issues
- Solutioning & Architecture Alignment
- Lead solution design and technical decision-making for complex initiatives
- Ensure all solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security, data, and integration standards
- Balance speed, cost, risk, and long-term sustainability in delivery decisions
- Transition to Operations & Production Readiness
- Ensure solutions meet production readiness criteria prior to go-live
- Drive structured handover to Technology Operations (documentation, SLAs, support model)
- Improve post go-live stability through shift-left and quality improvements
- Digital, Data & AI Product Scaling
- Deliver digital, data, and AI initiatives as enterprise-grade products
- Partner with Data & Analytics teams to embed data-driven and AI capabilities
- Ensure validated innovation use cases are industrialised and scaled effectively
- Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement
- Act as a senior technology partner to business stakeholders
- Provide transparent reporting on delivery progress, risks, and trade-offs
- Serve as the single point of accountability for delivery commitments
- Build, mentor, and lead high-performing product, delivery, and engineering teams
Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline
Experience
- 12–15 years of progressive experience in technology delivery, digital products, or enterprise systems
- Proven track record delivering large-scale, mission-critical systems end to end
- Demonstrated capability in turning around or maturing delivery organisations
- Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, and modern software engineering practices
- Exposure to digital, data, or AI-enabled solutions at scale is highly desirable
