The Grade II* listed Edwardian building has been transformed with 120 rooms and suites and 85 exceptional branded residences. An exceptional opportunity presents itself for a Bartender to join the Food & Beverage Department at Raffles London at the OWO. Reporting to the Bar Manager, you will be responsible for preparing and mixing drinks for our guests, providing courteous and efficient service to all guests and maintaining the highest levels of service throughout each shift in line with the standards that are set. You will need to be fully knowledgeable about all elements of the menu, including correct presentation and garnish for all drinks served, and comply with licensing laws that you will have been trained on. Your passion for people and commitment to delivering an outstanding bar experience is paramount. The role also covers work‑life balance, including the operational hours (Tuesday to Saturday 17:00‑01:30) and an Uber allowance after 00:30.
Responsibilities
- Working with the head bartender and bar manager to ensure an exciting beverage programme is executed well.
- Working with the bar back team to ensure setup and MEP is done to the desirable standards.
- Using the lab equipment safely.
- Ensuring the bar is always set up and broken down properly and efficiently.
- Working hands‑on across all bars and beverage outlets.
- Detailed and precise order taking and communication with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Building and developing good guest relations, including problem solving and complaint handling.
- Preparing the department for service and managing time‑sensitive targets.
- Performing other duties as required or assigned, including working in a different department or restaurant than usually assigned.
Requirements
- A proven track record and ability to provide high levels of service under pressure.
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken.
- Understanding and willingness to contribute to a 24‑hour operational schedule when required.
- Recent experience within bars, ideally in the luxury sector.
- Good knowledge of spirits and cocktails.
- Enthusiasm and commitment to delivering the best service and experiences possible in any situation.
- Able to work within a team.
