Are you an experienced Audio Visual Engineer who enjoys solving technical problems, working directly with clients and taking ownership when you're on site? Perhaps you're already working as an AV Service Engineer, AV Support Engineer or Field Service Engineer. Or maybe you're currently working in AV installation or commissioning and would like to move into a service-focused role where your technical knowledge and customer skills are equally valued. Either way, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

We're recruiting for a highly regarded commercial AV business with an excellent reputation for the quality of its engineering, service and client relationships. You'll be joining an experienced and supportive team, looking after some genuinely exciting commercial clients and well-known brands across London and the South.

The Role

This is a hands-on AV service engineering role where no two days will be exactly the same. You'll be out on client sites investigating faults, diagnosing problems, maintaining systems and getting technology back up and running. You'll also be the person the client sees, so how you communicate, explain problems and manage expectations is just as important as your technical ability. You'll work across a range of professional AV, UC and collaboration environments, with the autonomy to manage your day while having the backing of an experienced technical and service team when you need it.

Your work will include:

  • Fault finding, diagnosing and resolving AV system issues
  • Reactive AV service and maintenance
  • Planned preventative maintenance / PPM
  • Troubleshooting integrated audio, video, control and UC systems
  • Attending commercial client sites across London and the South
  • Working within agreed SLAs and keeping clients updated
  • Producing clear service reports following site visits
  • Identifying recurring faults and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Organising bench repairs and liaising with manufacturers where required
  • Supporting the internal AV Help Desk and technical teams
  • Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted technical contact

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking to people with a strong technical grounding in professional Audio Visual systems. Ideally, you'll already have experience within AV service, maintenance or field support, but we're also very open to experienced AV Installation Engineers or AV Commissioning Engineers who have strong fault-finding skills and would like to move into service. You'll need to be comfortable walking onto a client site, understanding the problem, methodically working through it and communicating confidently with the people around you.

Experience with some of the following technologies would be particularly useful: Crestron, Q-SYS / QSC, Extron, AMX, Biamp, Shure, Logitech, Poly, ZeeVee. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms, video conferencing, unified communications, DSP, audio systems, control systems, signal distribution and networked AV would also be highly relevant. Exposure to remote monitoring and management platforms such as Utelogy, Crestron Fusion, RMS, Barco, Avedia Server or TMS would be advantageous. AVIXA CTS, CTS-I or CTS-D qualifications are welcomed, but they aren't the only thing we're looking for. Practical engineering ability, strong fault-finding skills and the way you work with customers matter enormously here.

Why This Opportunity?

There are plenty of AV engineering jobs around. Finding the right business and team to join is a different matter. This is a company that has built an excellent reputation around quality, technical expertise and customer service, with a strong team of people who genuinely know the AV industry. If you're ambitious, there are plenty of opportunities to develop technically, take on greater responsibility and progress your career. Equally, if you're an experienced engineer who enjoys being hands-on but would simply like to join a good team, work with interesting clients and achieve a better work-life balance, that's absolutely fine too.

You'll benefit from:

  • High-profile commercial clients and recognised brands
  • Predominantly London and South-based work
  • A supportive and experienced AV engineering team
  • Genuine long-term career development opportunities
  • A strong focus on work-life balance
  • Flexible holiday allowance with the option to buy and sell additional days
  • Pension scheme
  • Death-in-service cover at 3x salary
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Regular team events, incentives and social days

Interested? If you're already working in AV service and maintenance, we'd love to hear from you. And if you're an AV Installation Engineer, AV Commissioning Engineer or AV Support Engineer who has the technical ability and customer skills to make the move into service, don't rule yourself out. You don't need to tick every technology on the list. If you know professional AV, can fault-find properly, enjoy working with customers and take pride in leaving a system working as it should, we'd really like to speak to you. Apply today for a confidential conversation about the role, the team and the type of clients you'll be working with.
