Are you an AV professional looking for something a little different? If so, we have the perfect role for you! We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AV Technical Designer to join our clients expanding team.

As an AV Technical Designer, you will play a crucial role in the team by attending customer and site meetings with the sales team, capturing project briefs, and designing effective AV systems. You will work closely with the project delivery team to create documentation and technical drawings, interact with customers and third-party stakeholders, and support the on-site delivery team.

The Role:

  • Create and present customer proposals and quotations
  • Develop system design schematics
  • Foster and grow technical relationships with customers alongside the assigned account manager
  • Conduct client-facing meetings and site surveys to gather information for accurate cost proposals
  • Provide project details and equipment specifications to in-house and third-party control programmers, assisting with control system programming and troubleshooting
  • Support Project Managers with all technical aspects of project delivery, including documentation and liaising with third parties
  • Offer technical information and support for Sales, Installation, and Project Management teams
  • Prepare acceptance testing documentation ahead of client or consultant acceptance tests
  • Stay updated on new product releases and technological advancements relevant to the team
  • Maintain technical relationships with vendors and distributors for pricing and design support

The Person:

  • In-depth professional AV engineering knowledge (Audio DSPs, VC platforms, Video distribution, basic networking)
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with customers in person, via video conferencing, or over the phone
  • Understanding of bespoke modern AV solutions design and scope
  • Knowledge of basic networking systems and requirements
  • Familiarity with Audio, Video, and UC signal flows and connectivity
  • Experience with network audio standards (Dante, AES67, AVB)
  • Proficiency with VC/UC platforms (Zoom, Teams, Meet, etc.)
  • Avixia CTS Certification (CTS / CTS-I / CTS-D) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think laterally
  • Organised with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet stringent deadlines
