We are recruiting an Audio Visual Engineer on behalf of a growing and well-organised AV business known for its strong team culture and genuine commitment to work–life balance. This role is field-based across the North of England. Candidates will ideally be located across North Yorkshire, County Durham, or surrounding areas to support coverage from Scarborough across to Kendal and north through Newcastle to Carlisle. Overnight stays will occasionally be necessary, but all work is carefully planned well in advance. Engineers typically have visibility of their schedules up to eight weeks ahead, allowing for proper planning and a far healthier work–life balance than is often seen in the AV industry.
The Role: You will be part of a close-knit engineering team delivering high-quality AV installations and support across a range of client projects. The business is structured, organised, and realistic in its planning, avoiding last-minute changes wherever possible. It is a company that is thriving, growing steadily, and investing in its engineering team, offering both stability and future career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and commissioning of AV systems on customer sites across the Midlands and wider UK
- Working to clearly defined project schedules and installation plans
- Maintaining high technical and quality standards on all projects
- Collaborating with colleagues, project managers, and wider teams
- Representing the business professionally while on customer sites
The Person:
- Proven experience working as an AV Engineer delivering high-quality installations and on-site support
- Strong hands-on technical knowledge across AV systems including audio, video, control, and display technologies
- Comfortable working across the Midlands with regular travel across the UK when projects require
- Flexible to stay away overnight when necessary
- Professional, reliable, and well-organised, with the ability to work to structured schedules and high standards
Additional Information:
- Field-based role covering the North of England
- Regular national travel depending on project requirements
- Overnight stays required at times but not constant or last-minute
- Work schedules typically confirmed up to eight weeks in advance
- Friendly, supportive, and well-organised engineering team
- Growing business offering long-term career opportunities
Why Apply? This is a rare opportunity to join an AV business that genuinely plans ahead, respects engineers' time, and has built a culture where people enjoy working and want to stay. If you're an AV Engineer looking for exposure to a variety of projects across the UK, while still maintaining a sensible and predictable work–life balance, this role is well worth exploring.
