AV Team Lead Central London (Onsite)

The Role
As the AV Team Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of onsite AV support, ensuring seamless operation of meeting spaces, events, and video conferencing systems. You'll lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of technicians while acting as the key onsite contact for the client. This position blends hands-on technical expertise with team leadership, service excellence, and client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of onsite AV technicians
- Manage daily operations to ensure full coverage across rotating shifts
- Act as the primary onsite contact for all AV services, requests, and escalations
- Oversee the setup and smooth running of meetings and corporate events
- Ensure service delivery aligns with SLAs, KPIs, and client expectations
- Perform quality checks, equipment audits, and preventative maintenance
- Work closely with IT, facilities, and external vendors on escalations and upgrades
- Support new technology rollouts and provide user training where required
- Ensure compliance with all onsite health, safety, and security procedures
- Coordinate staff rotas, holiday cover, and shift patterns
Shift Pattern
The AV team operates a rotating weekly shift pattern:
- 07:00 15:00
- 08:00 16:00
- 11:00 19:00
Flexibility is essential to provide full coverage across operational hours.
Skills & Experience
- Strong technical expertise across AV & VC systems (Teams Rooms, Yealink, Poly, Crestron, QSC, etc.)
- Proven experience supervising or leading a small AV team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational ability with a proactive, solutions-driven mindset
- Comfortable working under pressure and managing multiple priorities
- Knowledge of AV-over-IP or basic networking principles (advantageous)
- Professional, approachable, and confident in a corporate environment
- AVIXA CTS / CTS-I certification (highly desirable)
