The role of the QTS is to plan and deliver high-quality learning opportunities alongside exceptional care, ensuring that all children are supported to develop and meet their individual needs. The QTS will carry out accurate and effective assessments that reflect each child's interests, abilities, and stage of development, and will ensure that learning environments are consistently stimulating, engaging, and inspiring. The role also involves supporting the manager and deputy manager in leading a high-quality curriculum and pedagogy across the setting, acting as an excellent role model and promoting outstanding childcare practice throughout.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong parent/carer partnerships
- Lead and guide staff to continually improve their knowledge of child development and the EYFS.
- Support Managers to complete half termly cohort tracking
- Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health and safety and safeguarding
- Undertake practice observations, supervisions and support any performance management for room staff.
- In conjunction with the senior management team identify and address individual training needs of Early Years Educators at the setting.
Qualifications
- A QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) qualification is essential for this role along with a Paediatric First Aid certificate.
- Previous leadership experience is highly desirable.
- You will have the ability to identify barriers to learning and development and work collaboratively to find practical solutions.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding, Child Protection, and the wider legislative requirements for working with children.
