About the role
RAFAKidz Nursery, RAF Benson, Wallingford OX10 6AA
- £13.21 per hour
- 16 hours per week
- 11am - 3pm, Monday to Thursday

Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant. As part of the busy catering team, we would love to welcome a new colleague who can bring creativity and imagination with an abundance of great ideas to enhance mealtimes.
Ideally, you will have previous experience within a busy catering environment. The key responsibilities of the role include assisting the cook in managing the nursery kitchens, adhering to food policies, organising, preparing, and serving nursery meals in accordance with the nursery menus and individual dietary requirements. You will be a good role model to the children, demonstrating patience and encouragement, and taking all necessary steps to safeguard children by following policies and procedures in place.
Requirements
- Work 4 hours a day, Monday to Thursday
- Current Food Hygiene Certificate (training can be provided for the ideal candidate)
- Ensure hygiene and cleanliness within the kitchen meet the highest standards in accordance with Environmental Health requirements and legislation
- Excellent knowledge of current legislations in Environmental Health and Food Standards Agency (desirable)
- Satisfactory, enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check required on appointment and every three years thereafter
