This member’s social club exists to support the RAF family by offering friendship and comradeship in a nice pleasant club. The job description reflects this as some of the time spent in the club will be less busy than most other establishments and would therefore suit a mature person. This therefore is a lone worker position.
Key Responsibilities
- Open the property at opening time and secure the property at the closing time.
- Currently hours of work are 5pm – 11pm Monday – Sunday.
- Maintain a pleasant, friendly attitude towards the customers at all times.
- Clean smart casual appearance at all times.
- Managing the bar, keeping the bar and customer area clean & tidy.
- Log all wastages on the daily cash sheet.
- Inform the secretary of any complaints internal or external.
- Responsible for handling money ensuring cash in draw matches “Z” reading and will make good any shortfall.
- Log on the cash sheet reason/s for any discrepancies of lower or higher figure as shown on the end of shift “Z” reading.
- Operate the till/s so as to ensure that the correct tabs are pressed to match the products purchased by the customers.
- No alcohol to be consumed whilst on duty.
- Manage bar stocks so as to prevent any out of date stock wastage.
- Change Kegs when necessary.
- Change Gas cylinders when necessary.
- Ensure the club’s policy on fire, health & safety is followed and adhered to at all times.
- Ensure all lights are switched off and doors are closed at close of business.
- Ensure all electrical plugs not connected to timers or on continuous use are switched off.
- Ensure all gas cylinders are turned off at the end of the shift.
- Carry out additional tasks as requested by the Secretary.
Working Conditions & Benefits
- Holidays are required to be taken between January 1st and December 31st.
- Holiday entitlement is up to 6 weeks depending on start date and end date.
- Minimum hours of work are averaged out at 8hrs per week.
- Pay rate currently ÂŁ13.00 per worked hour.
