What we’re looking for
We are looking for a highly proactive and capable contractor to join us as soon as possible for a 6-month contract (with potential to extend to 9 months). You will take the lead on setting up and commissioning new equipment within our facility, co‑ordinating building work and services while acting as a crucial operational engine to get our production capabilities online. This is an opportunity for someone with strong engineering and manufacturing enthusiasm to join a small team of doers supporting a growing business. You will be hands‑on, managing the end‑to‑end process of bringing new machinery online, and you’ll need to be as happy talking to engineers, suppliers, and external contractors to strive for success. Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome – we are an equal opportunities employer. If you’re unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you’re interested in where it could take you – we encourage you to apply.
- Equipment Setup & Commissioning: Take full ownership of setting up new facility equipment, including semi‑automated machinery. You must account for all wider operational impacts, including facility modifications, safety protocols, and infrastructure requirements.
- Design & Quality Integration: Ensure that machinery is suitable for current and future product and meets the capacity requirements of the business. You must thoroughly understand the key quality requirements of our products and ensure all equipment is set up and configured to consistently achieve these standards.
- Hands‑on Execution: You will be the person responsible for delivery, installation, commissioning, validation and specifying the servicing and maintenance of the equipment and machinery on the shop floor.
- Health, Safety & Compliance: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and ensure all setups strictly comply with current building regulations and legislation. Knowledge of LOLER and PUWER regulations is essential.
- Process Documentation: Draft and finalise clear, robust work instructions for the newly commissioned equipment to be used by the wider team. Proper and effective storage of equipment documentation and operator training.
- Supplier & Contractor Management: Confidently manage external contractors on‑site, handle supplier RFQs, and lead the auditing and selection process for new equipment vendors.
- Industry Experience: Proven, well‑rounded experience in all the aforementioned areas is required. Previous experience specifically working with battery module or pack assembly would be highly advantageous.
- On‑site Presence: To effectively drive projects on the ground, this role requires working 5 days a week on‑site at our Warwick facility for the duration of the contract with travel to suppliers as required.
