Custom batteries are inaccessible for too many. From motorbikes to drones, boats to robotics and everything in between, we build batteries differently to enable high performance, affordable optimisation. We're at the start of our journey. We have experience, innovation and momentum on our side.
We are looking for a technically proficient and highly motivated Project Engineer to serve as the operational and engineering project lead for a flagship high-voltage battery project. Reporting to the Head of Engineering and supported by the Head of Programmes, you will be responsible for driving the delivery of a sophisticated 800V, hybrid battery system for a high-performance automotive manufacturer. This is a pivotal role requiring a multi-disciplinary engineer who can bridge the gap between concept and production. You will manage the technical maturation of our battery product for a high-power hybrid-electric application, ensuring we meet rigorous thermal management and structural requirements.
Applicants from all backgrounds are welcome - we are an equal opportunities employer. If you're unsure that you meet the full criteria of a role – but you're interested in where it could take you – we encourage you to apply.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar technical role within the battery or electrification industry.

- Operational Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of the project, from CAD maturation through to testing and initial low volume manufacturing.
- High-Voltage Fluency: Understanding of electrification systems including 400v/800v architectures, BMS integration, and PDU/BDU functionality.
- Thermal & Mechanical Competence: Ability to manage engineering challenges related to high power electrical conductors, sealing, thermal management, electronics and harnessing.
- Project Governance: Manage project timelines, procurement activities, and risk mitigation strategies to meet demanding delivery schedules.
- Customer Interface: Act as a key technical point of contact, ensuring project scope and success criteria are met according to the project RASIC.
- Standards Awareness: Support the validation and certification of modules to UN38.3 and other standards.
- Collaborative Mindset: Excellent communication and teamwork skills both internally and externally.
- On-site Presence: Ability to work 40 hours a week, required on site at least 4 days a week.
