Rae McCabe Associates is delighted to be working in partnership with this leading and prestigious Scottish law firm, actively recruiting an L & D Advisor to join their busy HR team. As part of the HR team, this is a newly created role with a focus on all things L & D, as well as assisting with other general HR projects as required. This is a tight knit, friendly and supportive team who work extremely well together so you can expect a fantastic working environment. You will work with all areas of the business so excellent communication skills and the ability to form strong working relationships are essential. Based in the city centre of Edinburgh, the firm offers an outstanding working environment in a modern office which utilises state of the art technology.
Duties include:
- Reporting to the HR Manager, taking a lead on all L & D training across the firm
- Coordinating and organising Partner training, including all logistics
- Overseeing follow ups on appraisals and assisting with action points where appropriate
- Coordinating Trainee Solicitor inductions, training, and professional development
- Coordinating and implementing inductions for new staff
- Preparing L & D material / communications for the website, publications, intranet, etc.
- Assisting in making improvements regarding processes and procedures
- Assisting the HR Manager and HR Director with other tasks as necessary
- Associated administration
Essential criteria:
- Previous HR / L & D experience, ideally from within a similar law or professional services firm (although this is not essential)
- Confident with excellent relationship building and communication skills
- Strong IT skills with a good working knowledge of MS Office
- Strong attention to detail
- A proactive, helpful and friendly manner with a preference for a busy role
