As a Sr Engineer within our Field Services practice, you will lead the design and detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) for customer sites on behalf of WWT. You will also oversee and coordinate work performed by internal delivery teams as well as partner resources and subcontractors to ensure delivery excellence and adherence to project standards. We are looking for a passionate person with in-depth knowledge and background in ICT facilities and cabling infrastructure design and technologies with demonstrable experience of data centre and multi-site/branch projects. You will be a senior member of our team acting as a subject matter expert (SME) and as a technical specialist on projects. You will take a lead role in the delivery of projects and directly interface with clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced knowledge and in-depth track record of working in structured fibre/copper/data/voice cabling within data centres and multi-site/branch offices.
  • Expertise in ICT cabling strategies, developing and interpreting client infrastructure requirements, equipment rooms and pathways.
  • Develop Bills of Materials (BOM), Service Level of Effort (LOE) estimates, design documentation, and Scope of Work (SOW) documentation.
  • Expertise in system design and integration within the built environment, interfacing with manufacturers and validating system installation, commissioning, and testing.
  • An ability to write clear and concise reports and specifications in both technical and non-technical language, including preparation of easy-to-understand system diagrams and schematics.
  • Assist engagement teams with complex rollout projects and perform on-site evaluations to collect data, generate estimates, draft LLDs/HLDs.
  • Engage appropriate partners for specific project needs and develop budgetary labor and material estimates, guiding sales teams in partner and manufacturer selection.
  • Serve as subject matter expert and point-of-contact for multiple project managers overseeing multi-site and single-site installations to assist PMO in project implementation.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to verify the legality of accepting projects that require licensing, subcontracting, or special permissions in various regional jurisdictions.
  • Review and manage partner qualifications, performance, and status; assist with onboarding installers per customer requests and negotiate with partners when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • BICSI - RCDD, DCDC certifications or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in field engineering services for data centres and/or multi-site/branch environments.
  • Experience managing quality across the full project lifecycle, from design review through installation validation and defect remediation.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, problem solving, attention to detail, root cause analysis experience, and ability to maintain high quality standards.
  • Up to 50% travel regionally.
  • Able to support cutovers on nights/weekends as required.
