Radman Associates is an independent firm of consultants providing RPA services to industrial companies, research organisations and Universities throughout the UK. In addition to advising on the technical and compliance matters concerned with ionising radiation in the workplace, we undertake contaminated land surveys, deliver RPS training courses and provide calibration services for radiation monitors.
We are looking for an enthusiastic trainee RPA starting out in their career to expand our team of accredited RPAs.
You will:
- have a Physics related degree;
- receive extensive on-site training in a variety of practices involving radiation sources;
- be enrolled on a remote learning course (AUPRO/University of Strathclyde Certificate of Professional Development in Radiation Protection) towards ultimately gaining RPA accreditation;
- contribute to our monthly RPS training courses held at a local hotel;
- be prepared for time away from home (approx. 1 night per week;
- preferably have held a previous post as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS).
You will be based at our Macclesfield office and will make regular visits to clients' premises (approx. 1 night away per week) to meet with the RPS and audit their radiation protection practices. Good, clear verbal and written communication skills are essential, both for reporting to clients and for delivering effective training.
