Radleys is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor. Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, this role combines hands-on capability with team leadership responsibility. This role is based at our premises in Saffron Walden, Essex.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, lead by example to ensure priorities are completed accurately and on time.
- Organise and prioritise workload to support relevant departments with the service required, allocating tasks across goods-in, picking, packing, dispatch, and other activities.
- Ensure warehouse workflows are followed and stock disciplines are enforced; maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Receive incoming deliveries including unloading, checking and booking in; ensure delivery documentation is accurate and discrepancies are identified and reported; label stock correctly and put away in correct locations.
- Ensure picking of work orders aligns with production priorities; pick and pack sales orders, label correctly and dispatch to required service levels; follow correct packaging standards to protect goods in transit.
- Maintain stock control and inventory accuracy via regular cycle counts and stock checks; investigate discrepancies; support periodic full stock counts; identify and implement improvements to reduce stock loss and mis-picks.
- Support incoming inspection processes for selected products/materials; ensure holds/quarantine procedures are followed and rejected goods are identified and segregated.
- Record stock movements in the warehouse system/ERP accurately; maintain documentation for goods-in, dispatch, and stock processes; support warehouse reporting and accuracy improvements.
- Champion health and safety compliance; ensure activities comply with risk assessments; conduct toolbox talks on safe manual handling and equipment use; report near misses, incidents and unsafe conditions.
Experience and qualifications
- Proven experience in a warehouse supervisory role or as a senior warehouse operative ready to step up.
- Knowledge of goods-in, picking, packing, dispatch and inventory control; experience maintaining stock accuracy through cycle counting and investigation.
- Ability to supervise a small team and manage daily priorities.
- Basic IT skills with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)/ERP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple departments.
- Experience supporting incoming goods inspection or working with Quality teams, and/or implementing warehouse improvements is desirable.
Additional information
You are practical, organised, and calm under pressure, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. The ideal candidate will be reliable and consistent, with a natural ability to solve problems and pursue continuous improvement. A UK driving license is preferred but not essential; the role is full-time at our premises in Saffron Walden, and you should be able to work in business English and live within a commutable distance.
