This is a brilliant opportunity to join an award-winning, independent creative agency in the heart of Shoreditch, with an ambition to be ‘the best place to work, where the best work gets done’. Your role will be to drive growth for both our clients and RY. You’ll build strong, trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, develop a deep understanding of their businesses and challenges, and use that knowledge to identify opportunities to grow our partnerships.
You’ll be commercially minded and naturally curious, with a strong understanding of the communications landscape and the ability to connect client needs with the breadth of services we offer across RY. You’ll anticipate opportunities, pre-empt briefs and bring insight and ideas to clients that genuinely add value.
As a Client Director, you’ll also play an important role in ensuring we deliver brilliant work. You’ll act as the voice of the client internally, working closely with Project Directors and Project Managers across multiple projects and teams to make sure we’re delivering high-quality work that meets or exceeds expectations. Ultimately, you’ll be a strategic partner to our clients and a key driver of growth for RY, expanding existing relationships, winning new opportunities and helping build long-term partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Understanding clients’ businesses, industries, challenges and opportunities, becoming the internal expert and go-to person for their account
- Staying informed on macro trends and bringing relevant insights into the business to help anticipate client needs and pre-empt briefs
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with key client stakeholders, building strong, long-term partnerships
- Driving growth by expanding client engagements across multiple areas of our business and identifying new opportunities within existing accounts
- Understanding and articulating our full range of services, connecting client needs with relevant RY case studies, insights and expertise
- Creating high-quality, persuasive pitch decks and presentations and leading pitches using the ‘Pitch to Win’ approach
- Establishing new connections, asking for referrals and proactively pursuing opportunities
- Authoring and implementing effective client plans, with clear revenue and client targets
- Acting as the voice of the client internally, championing the creative process and ensuring the delivery of best-in-class work
- Collaborating with Project Directors and Managers across multiple projects and business areas, challenging teams to maintain quality and meet client expectations
- Taking ownership of the commercial relationship and financial health of accounts, including pricing, commercial negotiations and account profitability
- Meeting individual revenue and client targets and identifying opportunities for continued growth
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior client management, consultancy or advisory role, ideally within an agency, consultancy or related environment
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust with senior clients
- Strong commercial and sales skills, with experience growing accounts and identifying new opportunities
- A strategic understanding of clients’ businesses, industries and wider challenges
- Excellent presentation and proposal-writing skills, with confidence leading pitches
- Commercially savvy, with confidence around pricing, negotiations, revenue targets and account profitability
- Know RY’s marketing positioning and proposition inside out, staying close to our campaigns, content, case studies and points of view, and using this knowledge to confidently represent RY and identify opportunities with clients and prospects
- A proactive, curious and creative approach, with the ability to spot opportunities and turn them into growth
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a commitment to delivering high-quality creative work
