Our client is one of the Top 20 financial advice businesses in the UK, responsible for advising 100,000 individual customers and over 250 corporate clients. We are searching for an outstanding Commercial Finance Professional to take a lead role in developing and delivering the company’s financial strategy and commercial decision making.
Working alongside and reporting into the CFO, you will lead all financial and commercial aspects of merger and acquisition activity. Suitable candidates must be qualified accountants with ACCA, ACA or CIMA qualifications and relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the financial evaluation of commercial strategies aligned with business growth and regulatory expectations, including detailed modelling and risk/return analysis making recommendations.
- Provide financial analysis and insights into commercial decisions as trusted advisor to the CFO.
- Own the revenue and commercial cost forecasting processes for new strategic decisions including all M&A activity.
- Ongoing revenue and profitability evaluation by customer segments, proposition and channel including driving recommendations for commercial improvements.
- Own all financial aspects of M&A activity, evaluate opportunities, shape deal strategy, negotiation support and financial due diligence.
- Maintain financial controls processes and procedures ensuring plans are robust and comply with regulations.
- Work closely with Financial Controller to support finance team members focusing on continuous improvement and developing talent.
- Interactions with external stakeholders including auditors and wider leadership teams.
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with relevant experience of 3-5 years in a commercial finance role ideally within SME/growth business background.
- Financial services experience is essential, ideally obtained within a regulated life and pensions environment.
- Strong financial modelling, analytical and commercial insight ideally with experience within Mergers and Acquisitions or similar activity.
- Sound communication skills, ability to negotiate at senior level with gravitas.
- Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills with a teamwork approach.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft including Excel and PowerPoint.
