Full Stack Engineer – New Launch Hedge Fund (L/S Equity)

A newly launched fundamentally driven long/short equity hedge fund, focused on the European Industrials sector, is seeking a talented Engineer to join its growing London-based team. The firm, currently composed of senior professionals from top-tier hedge funds including Citadel, DE Shaw, and Millennium, operates in a high-trust, high-accountability environment with a strong investment focus and entrepreneurial culture.
Reporting to the CRO and collaborating closely with investment and data teams, this role offers the opportunity to design and deliver greenfield systems that visualise complex financial data, support analytical workflows, and integrate seamlessly with backend infrastructure. You’ll play a key role in shaping the fund’s research and tooling platform from inception.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain full-stack applications and internal tools, with an emphasis on high-performance, data-intensive frontend systems.
- Collaborate directly with investment professionals, quants, and data scientists to develop responsive dashboards and analytical interfaces.
- Integrate frontend components with Python-based backend services and APIs.
- Optimise application performance for large datasets, leveraging efficient data manipulation and visualisation techniques.
Qualifications:
- 1–7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong academic background from a leading university.
- Deep experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (React preferred), TypeScript, and data visualisation tools.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data workflows and backend frameworks (FastAPI/Flask).
