Infrastructure Engineer - Hedge Fund in London

Top quant fund with offices in New York, London and the UAE that combines institutional scale with a start-ups velocity, are looking to hire a talented Infrastructure Engineer to build, evolve and maintain the core infrastructure that underpins and protects the firms technology environment. This is a highly visible role working closely with Portfolio Managers, Engineers, Security, and Operations teams.

This is an opportunity to operate in a greenfield, high-performance environment with rapid feedback loops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining infrastructure across compute, storage, networking, and cloud environments.
  • Owning system configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting across endpoints, servers, and services.
  • Defining and running experiments to improve performance, reliability, and system design.
  • Translating learnings from experiments into durable, production-ready solutions.
  • Driving architectural decisions that support growth and operational resilience.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a technical subject (Computer Science or similar)
  • 3-8 years of experience in infrastructure or systems engineering within complex environments.
  • Deep understanding of how computers, operating systems, and networks function.
  • Broad experience across cloud platforms, and infrastructure tooling.
  • Strong ability to reason from first principles and debug unfamiliar systems.
  • Proven ability to experiment thoughtfully and apply learnings to real systems.
  • Pragmatic, high-ownership mindset with clear and structured thinking.

This is a full-time position base in London. Compensation is highly competitive and contingent on experience.
