Radley Green is working with a fast-growth Fire and Security Alarms business to recruit their new Head of Engineering Operations. This is a key role in the growth of the business and will play a pivotal role in leading the team of 15-20 installation, service & maintenance engineers. This role will be part of the senior management team of this growing business and play a big part in its growth.

Candidates must have experience with Fire alarms and Intruder security. This role will be 3 days a week based in the Leicester head office and 2 out in the field reviewing and evaluating the work of the engineers/projects. This role will pay £65k-£80k plus bonus and benefits and the opportunity to be part of the senior management team of a growing company. This role is not an 'on the tools' role but is a managerial and development role for an experienced Alarms professional with a background in engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Installation management
  • Plan engineers’ diaries to maximise utilisation – 15-20 engineers at present.
  • Track installation delivery against quotation to ensure margins are maintained.
  • Source and organise equipment for engineers to carry out installation projects.
  • Liaise directly with customers to book in installation work.
  • Technical support
  • Act as the go-to person for engineers who encounter technical challenges.
  • Participate in key client meetings if required and offer technical expertise.
  • Ensuring NSI technical compliance.
  • Recruitment and training
  • Source, interview and select prospective engineer candidates.
  • Provide training to new engineers.
  • Oversee and implement individual training plans for engineers.
  • Enforce quality standards across Installation, Maintenance, Extra Works and Service.
  • Fleet management
  • Ensure all company vehicles remain legally compliant and mechanically sound.
  • Manage trackers when required.
  • Buy/sell vehicles when required.
  • Acquisition assistance
  • Perform skills audit on the incoming engineers.

This is a great role for an experienced Alarms engineer who has managed and developed teams. Candidates must have a background in Alarm engineering.
