About this Role
Radley College is looking for a qualified electrician (minimum of BS7671 18th edition compliant) to join the Maintenance team to carry out general electrical checks, repairs and installations across site. The successful applicant will also be required to hold the emergency phone on a pro rata basis to cover evenings and weekends, for which an allowance is paid.
Radley College’s Maintenance Team consists of 13 tradesmen responsible for maintaining all aspects of Radley’s estate, including over 150 residential houses, 11 Socials with 100 rooms each, and more than 30 school buildings with over 140 classrooms. The department experiences peak maintenance periods at the start of each term and during cold weather.
We are looking for someone with a good sense of humour who works well as part of a team but is also able to work independently. Interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication are essential.
Radley College is a community with pupils, staff, families and their children. An ability to interact with all in a friendly and positive manner is essential.
The successful candidate will have experience in electrical work and the basics of plumbing, carpentry, working at height and manual handling.
Hours of work: 08:00 to 16:30, Monday to Friday, with a paid 15-minute morning break and a 45-minute lunch break (30 minutes unpaid).
Uniform, tools and College vehicle are provided.
You must hold a full clean driving licence for at least one year.
