Radlett Opticians is a trusted, community-focused independent practice in the heart of Radlett, Hertfordshire. Due to increasing growth, we currently have a vacancy for a dynamic and enthusiastic Dispensing Optician Manager to join our team.

The opportunity

This is a dual role combining hands‑on patient care with responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the practice. It would suit an individual with superb clinical and communicative skills who is looking to further their career by expanding their knowledge within a progressive, forward‑thinking practice. You’ll be a visible presence on the consulting floor — advising patients, dispensing eyewear, and delivering the kind of personal service an independent practice is known for — while also providing the leadership that keeps the practice running smoothly behind the scenes.

We have prided ourselves on being leaders in innovative technology. Our current team have a variety filled day with contact lens teaches, dry AMD treatments, dry eye treatments and using advanced measuring equipment and bespoke spectacle dispensing. We have a variety of suppliers; we mainly dispense Hoya, Essilor and Tokai lenses but we are happy to dispense any lens if it is right for the patient. An opportunity to dispense Lindberg, Silhouette, Moscot, Face a Face, Ray‑Ban and Oakley frames. We also stock Maui Jim, Ray‑Ban and Oakley sunglasses.

What you’ll do

  • Manage the day‑to‑day operations of the practice, ensuring everything runs efficiently and to a high standard
  • See to patients — dispensing frames and lenses, advising on optical solutions, and delivering an outstanding experience
  • Lead, motivate, and support the wider practice team
  • Collaborate closely with optometrists to ensure seamless patient journeys from start to finish
  • Oversee stock, supplier relationships, scheduling, and compliance
  • Help drive the continued growth and development of the practice

What we’re looking for

  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, and genuinely patient‑focused
  • Superb clinical skills with the confidence to handle a wide range of dispensing scenarios
  • Excellent communicator — with patients, colleagues, and suppliers alike
  • Natural leader who brings calm, positivity, and direction to a team
  • Highly organised, with the ability to balance clinical and operational responsibilities
  • Previous management or senior optical experience preferred
