You’ll report to the Financial Controller and work closely with the Accounting & Financial Control team, learning how to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including basic profit & loss and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Helping to produce financial reporting packs and commentary for review by senior finance colleagues.
- Supporting the team in comparing actual performance to budgets and forecasts, preparing simple variance analysis.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assisting with year-end processes, including preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Learning how to improve processes and controls, and suggesting ideas for efficiency.
- Providing ad hoc analysis and support to the Financial Controller.
- Collaborating with central teams (Group, Tax, Compliance) as needed.
Qualifications
- Studying towards a finance qualification (AAT, ACCA, or CIMA) or keen to start.
- Some prior experience to finance or accounting (e.g., through studies, work experience, or an accounts assistant role) is required.
- Strong attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and willing to learn new systems.
- Keen to learn, develop and get stuck into the role.
- Organised and able to manage tasks and deadlines.
- Good communicator and team player.
