The position is based at our Head Office in Crewe, working Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm.
What You'll Do
- Own the reconciliation of supplier statements against the purchase ledger, matching transactions and clearing down open items.
- Apply a structured, investigative approach to resolving discrepancies, unmatched items and unexplained differences.
- Act as the subject‑matter expert on reconciliation methodology, setting the standard and advising colleagues.
- Produce clear, well‑evidenced reconciliation workpapers that stand up to internal and external audit.
- Identify root causes behind recurring differences and recommend process or control improvements.
- Support the group financial control framework by ensuring balances are reconciled and explained.
Qualifications
- Part‑qualified, fully qualified or QBE accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Demonstrable expertise in reconciliation across various ledgers (bank, balance sheet, intercompany, control accounts, AP/AR).
- Exceptional attention to detail and a methodical, analytical approach to resolving differences.
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, SUMIFS, large data sets).
- Ability to explain reconciling items clearly to finance and non‑finance colleagues.
- Comfortable working to month‑end deadlines, on‑site, as part of a team.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Sage X3.
- Exposure to high‑volume or multi‑entity environments.
- Prior supplier statement / purchase ledger experience.
What to Expect From Us

- A fast‑growing, agile and innovative organisation.
- Opportunities for continuous improvement from day one.
- A commitment to building an inclusive work environment that values diversity, innovation, agility and grit.
- Competitive pay, potential bonus and a good range of benefits.
