Job Description
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Vision to lead the end-to-end ownership of our video telematics product line.
This leadership role is responsible for development, deployment, and in‑life support.
- What you’ll be doing
- Own the full lifecycle of the video telematics product portfolio, including development, launch, and post‑release optimisation
- Translate business requirements into scalable, innovative product solutions
- Ensure timely and successful product delivery aligned with business objectives and market needs
- Hardware Development Leadership
- Lead the end‑to‑end hardware development process for video telematics camera systems
- Oversee design, validation, testing, and production readiness of camera devices
- Partner with engineering teams and suppliers to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective, and scalable hardware solutions
- Device Management & Firmware
- Own and oversee device management platforms, including configuration management and remote deployment capabilities
- Lead firmware development cycles including planning, testing, release, and life‑cycle maintenance
- Ensure robust processes for firmware validation, version control, and release governance
- Maintain detailed and accurate change logs for firmware and configuration releases
- Configuration Management
- Develop and maintain scalable configuration frameworks for video telematics devices
- Ensure consistency, traceability, and auditability of configuration changes
- Implement best practices for configuration creation, deployment, and rollback strategies
- Maintain comprehensive documentation and change control processes
- Cross‑functional Collaboration
- Successfully collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across product, software engineering and operational support functions
- Act as the key liaison between internal stakeholders including product management, operations, and customer support
- Drive alignment across teams to ensure smooth handoffs from development through deployment and support
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Build, mentor, and manage high‑performing technical teams
- Establish clear goals, development plans, and performance expectations
- Promote a strong culture of innovation, ownership, and operational excellence
- Ensure effective resource allocation and prioritisation across initiatives
Qualifications

- Extensive experience in video telematics, Io T, or connected device ecosystems
- Proven track record in hardware development for camera or imaging products
- Strong understanding of device management platforms, firmware life‑cycle, and remote device operations
- Deep knowledge of configuration management systems and change control processes
- Familiarity with embedded systems, video processing technologies, and connectivity protocols
- Leadership & Management
- Demonstrated experience leading hardware development and support teams in a complex product environment
- Strong people management skills with a focus on coaching and team development
- Experience owning product lines with full accountability for delivery and performance
- Process & Operational Excellence
- Expertise in structured product development processes
- Strong attention to detail in maintaining change logs, release documentation, and audit trails
- Experience managing releases across hardware, firmware, and configuration environments
- Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to align technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Ability to communicate effectively with SLT
- Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment
- Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ Years Experience within video telematics, leading hardware development teams
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements for connected devices
