This role is initially being offered as a 12 months FTC. The Collections Manager will report to the Head of Collections and play a pivotal role within our Credit & Collections function. This position is responsible for overseeing collections activities, ensuring timely recovery of outstanding debts and maintaining a positive cash flow. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-driven professional with extensive experience in collections management and a passion for developing and refining collections strategies. We would love to welcome you to our Crewe office, working hours of Monday‑Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the collections strategy in line with the company's financial objectives and risk appetite.
- Oversee the end-to-end collections process, including managing the collections team to ensure efficient and timely resolution of outstanding accounts.
- Monitor collections performance and generate reports, providing insights and recommendations to senior management on optimizing cash flow.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards within the collections function.
- Stay informed of industry trends, emerging risks, and best practices in collections management.
- Support the Head of Collections in driving process improvements and professional growth within the collections team.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments to align collections strategies with company objectives.
- Identify areas for automation and process improvement to enhance collections efficiency.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, such as collection agencies, legal firms, and other relevant entities.
- Regularly review and update collection policies and procedures to align with evolving company and regulatory requirements.
- Design, implement, and maintain collections reports and dashboards to provide real‑time visibility into collections performance for management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in collections management, with a proven record of success in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of collections principles, regulatory requirements, and best practices in collections.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with an aptitude for data-driven decision‑making.
- Expertise in data management and reporting systems, with experience in collections reporting.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on developing and mentoring talent.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and presenting to senior management.
- Experience working with collection agencies or legal recovery services is desirable.
