Job Description
The role of Accounts Assistant within the Radius is a great opportunity to start or develop your career in finance. You’ll report to the Finance Manager and work closely with the Accounting & Financial Control team, learning how to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including basic profit & loss and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Helping to produce financial reporting packs and commentary for review by senior finance colleagues.
- Supporting the team in comparing actual performance to budgets and forecasts, preparing simple variance analysis.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Assisting with year-end processes, including preparing audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Learning how to improve processes and controls, and suggesting ideas for efficiency.
- Providing ad hoc analysis and support to the Finance Manager.
Qualifications:
Prior experience in finance or accounting (e.g., through studies, work experience, or an accounts assistant role) is required. Strong attention to detail and a logical approach to problem-solving. Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and willing to learn new systems. Keen to learn, develop and get stuck into the role. Organised and able to manage tasks and deadlines. Good communicator and team player.
