Radius has grown rapidly at a time when tax requirements have become more complex and reporting more onerous. The group has tax compliance responsibilities for over 80 legal entities across the UK, Europe, Asia and US. We are seeking a Tax Compliance Senior to join our in‑house Tax Compliance team.
The Tax Compliance team is responsible for ensuring the group meets its tax compliance obligations accurately, timely and efficiently across all jurisdictions in which it operates. The team manages the preparation, review and submission of VAT, GST, sales tax, corporate income tax, withholding tax and other tax returns, while maintaining robust controls to ensure compliance with local tax legislation and reporting requirements.
The Tax Compliance Senior will support the Tax Compliance Manager in delivering accurate and timely indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The role focuses on the review and submission of VAT returns, supporting the management of balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring robust compliance processes and controls are maintained. The individual will help ensure the timely settlement of tax liabilities and adherence to all statutory deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, prepare, and submit VAT returns across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with local legislation.
- Review and maintain the indirect tax compliance schedule, ensuring all returns are tracked and submitted in line with statutory deadlines.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to junior team members, including training and knowledge sharing, to enhance technical capability, confidence, and overall contribution to the team.
- Review indirect tax balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure VAT receivable/payable positions accurately reflect underlying ledger activity.
- Monitor and oversee payment deadlines, ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of all liabilities.
- Ensure the maintenance of audit-ready documentation, with appropriate review of filings, reconciliations, and supporting evidence to meet internal and external audit requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement of VAT processes, strengthening internal controls and enhancing reporting efficiency.
- Provide support to the Tax Compliance Manager on VAT matters, including leading responses to ad hoc queries and supporting compliance-related projects.
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience in VAT or indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong numerical and analytical capability, with a track record of working accurately with complex financial data.
- Good working knowledge of indirect tax principles, VAT rules, and multi-jurisdiction compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, with experience maintaining high standards of data accuracy and quality in a compliance environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritise workload, consistently meeting strict reporting and filing deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. lookups, pivot tables, and data manipulation).
- Strong communication skills, with experience working collaboratively with finance and operational stakeholders.
