Overview

In this role you will design, implement, and optimize enterprise voice and unified communications to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing telephony services. You will work with SIP-based systems, contact centre technologies, and vendor/carrier integration to ensure resilient voice delivery. You will diagnose issues, drive improvements, and support migrations and upgrades as part of IT Operations. This position offers a chance to shape Radius’s voice strategy and improve call quality at scale. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to realise strategic goals for communications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy and maintain enterprise voice and unified communications platforms
  • Manage SIP trunks, SBCs, call routing and dial plans
  • Support cloud telephony platforms, including contact centre solutions
  • Maintain voice platform availability, resilience and performance
  • Investigate and resolve voice-related incidents and service requests
  • Diagnose SIP signalling, media flow and call quality issues
  • Collaborate with providers and vendors to resolve carrier issues
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures
  • Support voice network requirements (QoS, firewalls, routing and security)
  • Assist with telephony migrations, upgrades and transformation projects
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity for voice services
  • Proactively monitor voice environments and service performance
  • Identify opportunities to improve call quality, reliability and operational efficiency
  • Produce reports on service availability, utilisation and performance
  • Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams and procedures
  • Develop and maintain voice engineering standards and best practices
  • Support audit, compliance and security requirements relating to voice services

Key requirements

  • Proven experience with enterprise level voice and collaboration platforms and call recording/reporting solutions
  • Strong experience supporting SIP-based voice solutions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Teams Phone including Direct Routing and Operator Connect
  • Excellent understanding of SIP signalling, RTP and VoIP
  • Experience with Session Border Controllers
  • Knowledge of carrier connectivity, SIP trunking and number management
  • Experience supporting cloud telephony and contact centre platforms
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex voice and call quality issues
  • Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, QoS, firewalls, routing)
  • SIP/VoIP
  • Session Border Controllers (SBCs)
  • SIP trunking and carrier connectivity
