Overview
As VAT Manager in Radius’s Indirect Tax Advisory, you shape VAT strategy and minimize indirect tax risk across 80 entities. You provide practical UK VAT guidance to finance and operations, support cross‑border initiatives, and help design a robust VAT framework. Responsibilities
- Provide practical VAT advice to stakeholders across operational and finance teams
- Support business initiatives and transactional workflows with correct VAT treatment
- Review, strengthen, and maintain VAT controls, processes, and documentation
- Identify opportunities for process and systems improvement aligned with finance systems
- Contribute to VAT considerations for system or process changes across the business
- Deliver VAT training and guidance to non‑tax teams
- Act as a point of contact for VAT queries from internal teams
- Assist Head of Indirect Tax with HMRC enquiries and audits
- Support review of VAT returns and related compliance tasks
- Mentor junior team members and review their work
Key requirements
- 4-6 years of hands‑on UK VAT experience in practice or industry
- Solid theoretical knowledge and practical advisory experience in UK VAT legislation and reporting
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, ATT, or HMRC VAT‑trained equivalent
- Experience supporting finance system changes or process improvement projects
- Exposure to advisory work on transactions or cross‑functional projects
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability
- Clear and effective communication to non‑specialists
- Excellent organizational skills and multi‑tasking
- UK VAT knowledge and advisory experience
- VAT accounting processes and reporting requirements
