The Indirect Tax Advisory team is responsible for delivering high‑quality VAT advice to the business, shaping the Group’s VAT strategy, and driving risk management and operational efficiencies.

  • Identify opportunities for process and systems improvement, including alignment with finance systems and reporting tools.
  • Contribute to VAT considerations for system or process changes across the business.
  • Deliver VAT training and guidance to non‑tax teams.
  • Act as a point of contact for VAT-related queries from internal teams.
  • Assist the Head of Indirect Tax with HMRC enquiries, information requests, and audit queries.
  • Support the review of VAT returns and related compliance tasks where required.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing feedback and reviewing their work as required.

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of hands‑on UK VAT experience gained in practice or industry.
  • Requires both solid theoretical knowledge and practical, hands‑on advisory experience in UK VAT legislation, VAT accounting processes, and reporting requirements.

  • Experience supporting finance system changes or process improvement projects.
  • Exposure to advisory work on transactions or cross‑functional projects.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and a proactive, improvement‑focused mindset.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams.
