The role of Finance Project Manager is really important to us. Reporting directly to the Head of Financial Operations, the Project Manager will play a key role in our Financial Operations team, focusing on successful delivery of key projects and supporting the business change activities for our Fuel and EV business unit, which will include:
- Responsible for the Project Management Office (PMO) of the department and producing regular management information to facilitate prioritisation and decision-making from senior leadership.
- Coordinate with the IT department on development requests from start to finish and provide stakeholder updates.
- Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior stakeholders.
- Manage multi-project workflows simultaneously while ensuring all individual tasks stay on track.
- Prepare and present monthly planning meetings to review current project statuses and align on future priorities.
- Meet with business teams and managers to gather accurate detail on how tasks are performed.
- Suggest practical changes to save time, reduce costs, and enhance the customer experience.
- Create clear visual diagrams, flowcharts, or value stream maps of current (As-Is) and future (To-Be) processes using tools like Visio.
- Produce detailed project plans which include milestones, identify internal and external resource requirements and account for dependencies.
- Coordinate internal resources and third-party suppliers for the execution of projects.
- Build a close relationship with the Finance Manager to understand capacity constraints during the month and identify resource opportunities to support deliverables.
- Acquire deep system and business knowledge to effectively assess the risks, benefits, and impacts of proposed improvements.
- Evaluate change proposals to design robust test plans and implement appropriate business readiness activities.
- Having a strong customer experience focus and placing significant importance on the customer onboarding journey.
Essential skills/attributes
- Project Management certification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP, MSP/MoP) or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years’ experience delivering projects.
- Excellent organisation skills and ability to multitask.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications and project planning tools such as Microsoft Project.
- Experience with software like Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, or Miro.
- Positive and pro-active mind-set, someone who colleagues always enjoy working with.
- Able to break down complex tasks into simple steps.
- Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to diversify approach according to the target audience.
