Ready to take your infrastructure expertise to the next level? As a Systems Operations Engineer at Radius you'll play a key role in supporting and maintaining our Linux and AWS environment. Reporting into our Cloud and Infrastructure Operations Manager, you'll work closely with colleagues in our Central IT and Software Development teams to ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and efficient - whether they're internal platforms or customer-facing services.
Responsibilities
- Primary support and maintenance of the group's Linux estate.
- Additional support and maintenance of the group's AWS infrastructure.
- Automating infrastructure tasks such as environment builds, scaling, monitoring, and patching.
- Collaborating with Software Development and DevOps teams to meet infrastructure needs.
- Researching and recommending improvements to enhance service levels and efficiency.
- Documenting systems and following change management protocols.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls and security standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with Linux technologies (Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Postfix, Git).
- Familiarity with configuration tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Ninja).
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, VPC, Route53, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS).
- Scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Solid understanding of IT security fundamentals.
- Ability to manage SLAs and prioritise competing requirements.
- Aware of emerging tech trends and industry drivers.
