We are seeking a capable and experienced Legal Assistant to support the Real Estate Director in managing a diverse caseload of commercial property transactions, residential property work, and real estate-related disputes. This is a key support role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate efficiently in a busy legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to the Real Estate Director
- Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, leases, and contracts
- Handle file opening and closing procedures, compliance checks, and client onboarding
- Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and coordinate transaction timelines
- Assist with due diligence, searches, Land Registry applications, and post-completion tasks
- Draft standard legal documents and letters under supervision
- Liaise with clients, third parties, and internal stakeholders in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the firm’s case management system
- Monitor key deadlines and assist with progressing transactions efficiently
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and firm procedures
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role within real estate or property law
- Strong knowledge of commercial and/or residential property processes
- Familiarity with Land Registry applications, SDLT returns, and post-completion tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple matters
- Competent in using Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
- Self-motivated and confident working independently, particularly in a remote environment
Desirable:
- Previous experience supporting a senior solicitor or partner in a real estate team
- Exposure to property litigation matters
- Working knowledge of compliance and anti-money laundering procedures
