Radius Housing is proud to announce the launch of Radius Direct Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary established to enhance and supplement our current property maintenance operations. Radius Direct has been created to support the delivery of essential services including servicing, planned maintenance, minor works, and repairs. The formation of this new company represents a proactive investment in improving service delivery, ensuring we can respond effectively to the growing demands of our sector and the expectations of our tenants.

Given the current housing pressures across our communities, Radius Direct will have a strong focus on void property relets, helping to minimise turnaround times and bring vacant homes back into use more efficiently. Additionally, Radius Direct will be central in delivering a range of compliance-related services, ensuring that Radius Housing continues to meet and exceed its statutory and regulatory responsibilities in an ever-evolving housing environment.

At the heart of Radius Direct will be a dedicated expert team of multi-trade operatives who will work alongside our existing staff and external contractors. This team will provide a responsive and integrated maintenance service, combining in-house expertise with trusted partnerships to ensure high-quality outcomes for our tenants. The introduction of Radius Direct reflects Radius Housing's commitment to enhancing service standards, increasing operational flexibility, and reinforcing our focus on tenant wellbeing. By bringing additional capacity in-house, we aim to deliver a service that is not only efficient and compliant but also proactive and community-centred.

We have multiple posts available, including:

  • FHA04335 - Testing & Inspection Electrician
    Salary: £35,000-£36,500
    The Testing and Inspection Electrician is responsible for carrying out electrical testing, inspection, and certification of domestic, commercial, and industrial electrical installations in accordance with current regulations. The role ensures electrical safety, compliance, and quality of work undertaken across the Radius Housing portfolio.
    Shortlisting Criteria:
    - Qualified Electrician with City & Guilds 2365 / 2330 or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
    - In-depth knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
    - Experience carrying out EICRs and remedial works
    - Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
    - Full Current UK driving licence
    - Good communication and IT skills
  • FHA04349 - Painter
    Salary: £28,000-£32,000
    The Painter is responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services within residential properties managed by the housing organisation. This includes the preparation and painting of internal and external surfaces during void turnarounds, responsive maintenance, and planned refurbishment programmes.
    Shortlisting Criteria:
    - Proven experience as a painter in social housing or similar environments
    - Strong understanding of different paint systems, finishes, and preparation techniques
    - Ability to work independently across multiple sites or as part of a maintenance team
    - Excellent attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality work
    - Respectful and professional when working in occupied homes or sensitive settings
    - Basic understanding of health and safety legislation and COSHH
    - Current Full UK driving licence (if mobile role)
  • FHA04348 - Building Fabric Operative
    Salary: £30,000-£34,000
    The post holder will carry out a range of building fabric maintenance, repair, and minor refurbishment works across social housing properties, ensuring homes are kept in a safe, secure, and habitable condition in accordance with health and safety standards and customer service expectations.
    Shortlisting Criteria:
    - NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade such as carpentry, joinery, or general building
    - Proven experience working in building fabric maintenance or refurbishment, ideally within social housing
    - Ability to diagnose and carry out a wide range of building fabric repairs
    - Current Full UK driving licence
    - Excellent customer service and communication skills
    - Strong awareness of health and safety procedures and regulations
  • FHA04350 - Property Clearance Operative
    Salary: £26,000-£27,000
    The Property Clearance Operative is responsible for clearing, cleaning, and preparing vacant properties for reoccupation or refurbishment. This includes the safe removal of furniture, waste, fixtures, and fittings.
    Shortlisting Criteria:
    - Experience in property clearance, waste removal, or similar manual work
    - Physically fit with the ability to lift and move heavy items safely
    - Awareness of health, safety, and environmental regulations
    - Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    - Strong work ethic and attention to detail
    - Full Current UK driving licence (if role involves travel)
  • FHA04355 - Plumber
    Salary: £32,000-£34,000
    The postholder will carry out plumbing installations, maintenance, and repair works across residential and/or commercial properties, ensuring all works are completed to high standards, comply with current regulations, and provide a safe environment for service users.
    Shortlisting Criteria:
    - NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent)
    - Proven experience in a similar plumbing role
    - Full UK Driving Licence
    - Strong knowledge of building regulations and plumbing codes
    - Able to work independently and as part of a team
    - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
    - Understanding of risk assessments and safe working practices
