We are looking for an enthusiastic Activities Coordinator (Care & Support) to join our team at Spelga Mews, Banbridge.

What is the role like?
As an Activities Coordinator (Care & Support), you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering a tailored programme of activities in support of the cognitive and physical wellbeing of our residents.
Part of the role will also be to deliver care and support services which will help to promote the welfare and wellbeing of our residents and safeguard them from harm. This includes tasks such as assisting with personal care, supporting staff with mobility issues and ensuring that our residents dietary needs are met.
About Spelga Mews
Situated in Banbridge, Spelga Mews is a specialist dementia care and support facility that offers round the clock care for our residents.
Spelga Mews includes a 12-bedroom care and supported living scheme for adults living with dementia, while Spelga Avenue provides 12 supported living bungalows for older people with complex needs who can live independently with outreach support.
The team at Spelga Mews focus on enabling residents to live happy and fulfilled lives within the local community. In 2024, Spelga Mews was recognised for its innovation in practice in care for those with memory loss. The team have also previously been award winners in the health and social care sector for the vital care and support services they provide. The Scheme was recognised for the vital work that the care staff provide outside the scope or standard that is normally expected for such roles.
What do you need to apply?
To apply for the role of Activities Coordinator (Care & Support), candidates are asked to detail how they meet the below criteria:
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English, as evidenced by a relevant qualification, or experience of demonstrating literacy in English in an education or work environment.
- Basic numeracy skills, as evidenced by relevant qualification or use of numeracy in an education or work environment.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Willingness to undertake training for the role.
- Willingness to register with NISCC (Northern Ireland Social Care Council) as a requirement of the role.
Hours: 30 per week
Salary: £12.61 per hour
