We are looking for a Tower Crane Operator to work within our Resource Team at various projects across the UK. They will be responsible for the safe operation of our Tower Cranes.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the Tower Crane in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, the site‑specific Lift Plan and SSoWs.
  • Ensure that no lifting is undertaken unless it is defined within the Lift plan or Schedule of Lifts.
  • Be aware and in control of all crane movements within the designated area of works and ensure clear, concise communication is made with all CLOSs, Slinger/Signallers and any other Crane Operators (if applicable) involved in the Lifting Operation.
  • Immediately report any situations or incidents that could endanger the health, safety and welfare of others within the vicinity of your site to your CLOS.
  • Ensure that all Daily and Weekly inspections on the Tower Crane are undertaken and recorded along with any other documentation such as timesheets, zoning calibration confirmation and end of shift.
  • Ensure that all basic maintenance duties, including pre and post start checks as specified by Radius Group and/or Crane Owner and in accordance with the Crane Manufacturer.
  • Immediately report any defects or breakdowns to the Crane and Lifting Operations Supervisor and where possible, to the Radius Group Office.
  • If required, operate the Crane during any erection, alteration, maintenance or dismantle by precisely following the directions of the person in charge.
  • Attend all Shift Start Briefings, Toolbox Talks, Health and Safety Meetings or Crane Team meetings called by the CLOS or AP.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • CPCS Certification: Tower Crane Operator 1) A04A – Trolley Jib – Cab Controlled 2) A04B – Luffing Jib – Cab Controlled
  • Previous Experience in Tower Crane Operation, minimum two references required.
  • Comply with safety operations and industry standards, extensive knowledge of LOLER 98, PUWER98 and BS7121.
  • Clear, concise communication skills.
  • Safety Critical Medical: Dated within one year.
