Radius Group is seeking an experienced Tower Crane Electrician to join our Tower Crane Division. This is a key role within a well-established team and offers the opportunity to contribute to the next chapter of the division’s success. The successful candidate will support long-term quality, reliability, and continued operational growth through exceptional engineering standards and commitment to service excellence. Our Tower Crane Division operates a modern and diverse fleet, focused predominantly on Potain/Manitowoc models. We pride ourselves on strong engineering standards, a collaborative team culture, and continuous investment in training, development, and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Electrical installation and commissioning of tower cranes during erection, climbing, and dismantling.
- Advanced fault-finding and electrical diagnostics using manufacturer and third-party tools.
- Planned maintenance and statutory inspection activities in line with manufacturer and BS 7121-1, 2 & 5 requirements.
- Updating job management systems, completing service documentation, and managing digital records.
- Liaising professionally with site teams, clients, and the Radius operations and engineering teams.
- Ensuring compliance with CPA, TINs, LOLER, PUWER, BS 7121, and internal Lifting Assurance procedures.
- Representing Radius Group professionally on sites across the UK.
Qualifications
Essential:
- ECS Level 3 NVQ Gold Card (Electrical)
- NVQ Level 2 Plant Installation – Tower Cranes
- Strong, demonstrable tower crane electrical experience
- Proficiency in systematic fault-finding and troubleshooting
- Strong IT literacy (Microsoft 365, tablets, smartphones, digital job systems)
- Full UK driving licence
- Available to work regularly on weekends
Desirable:
- Potain/Manitowoc technical or diagnostic training
- Experience with anti-collision (SMIE/AMCS) and load-monitoring systems
