Lead the technology behind one of the UK’s leading employee-benefit mortgage brokerages
My client is a well-established, FCA-regulated mortgage brokerage. It specialises in independent mortgage advice and financial education for employees of major corporate partners across law, banking, insurance, technology and professional services. It’s a genuinely values-led business with a strong reputation and an ambitious growth plan.
As the firm grows, it is appointing a Head of IT & Operations to join its executive steering function, reporting directly to the Managing Director.
This is a newly shaped role with real influence. You’ll own the firm’s technology and operations end to end and lead its AI strategy, finding new tools that help its advisers do more for their clients.
What you’ll be doing
- Partnering with the MD to drive changes to business systems that deliver measurable efficiency gains
- Leading AI implementation and innovation across the business
- Owning and optimising core systems, including CRM and mortgage platforms, to speed up processing and reduce cost per case
- Overseeing hardware, networks and cloud environments in line with Group architecture and security standards
- Leading the Mortgage Administration Team, setting and monitoring KPIs and SLAs
- Leading the technical integration of acquisitions: auditing legacy systems, migrating data and onboarding new staff
- Ensuring data security, GDPR compliance and FCA operational resilience
- Owning business continuity and disaster recovery planning
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years in IT operations, systems or infrastructure, including leading teams in an FCA-regulated mortgage or lending environment
- A track record of transforming business systems that measurably improved processing speed or output
- Hands‑on experience managing and de‑risking bespoke, in‑house software
- Experience working within a Group or matrix structure
- A genuine appetite for AI and emerging technology, with the commercial judgement to apply it well
- Strong people leadership, ideally of an administrative or processing team
- A strong grasp of network architecture, API integrations and cloud configuration
- Hands‑on knowledge of mortgage sourcing software, CRM systems and adviser portals
The package
A base salary of £100,000 – £120,000, depending on experience, with a hybrid working pattern from a central London office.
