Job Description
Based within our Area Support Office at Radisson Blu Manchester Airport, we're looking for a commercially driven Meetings & Events Conversion Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in maximising Meetings & Events revenue across our Club Hotels. Working closely with the Club Manager and wider commercial teams, you’ll be the driving force behind our conversion strategy, ensuring we don’t just generate enquiries, but successfully convert them into profitable business. This is a role for someone who is sales-focused, proactive and entrepreneurial, with the confidence to challenge, coach and inspire others while building strong relationships across the business.
- Ensure all bookings within the agreed parameters are fully qualified, followed up and accurately recorded, with all relevant data entry fields completed.
- Conduct daily reviews with team members on new pipeline and developments within existing business, as well as reviewing Lost and Denied business with the Club Manager to ensure the correct decision has been made and identify any opportunities to recapture business.
- Review Meetings & Events diaries to identify and respond to key gaps and opportunities, ensuring these are clearly communicated to the team and wider business.
- Prepare weekly, monthly and annual reporting on Meetings & Events metrics, including reporting and analysis required for Commercial Reviews and other relevant meetings.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and partners, ensuring all communication and activities are managed effectively and delivered in a timely manner.
- Liaise and collaborate with Club Team members, attending relevant meetings to present updates and communicate changes to strategy.
- Establish and deliver effective programmes that drive sales and profitability, working with internal and external stakeholders as required and incorporating environmental considerations.
- Develop a strong sales culture within the Club environment, promoting a one-team approach and encouraging the team to maximise opportunities and achieve sales KPIs.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant legislation, due diligence requirements and best practice, ensuring activities are planned, delivered and documented appropriately for internal and external audit, with follow-up action taken where required.
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who combines strong Meetings & Events experience with a genuine passion for sales and commercial performance. You’ll ideally bring:
- Proven experience in Meetings & Events, hotel sales or a similar commercial environment, with a strong track record of driving sales, conversion and revenue.
- Strong commercial awareness, with knowledge of the Meetings & Events market and competitive landscape.
- Excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- A strong coaching and leadership mindset, with the ability to develop others and build a sales culture.
- Excellent analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn insight into commercial action.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and cultures.
- Highly organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and commercial/IT systems, with a positive, proactive and engaging approach.
Additional Information
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real commercial impact. You’ll have the autonomy to influence how we approach conversion, develop the capability of the team and work closely with key stakeholders to unlock new revenue opportunities. If you’re someone who naturally asks “How can we convert this?”, enjoys finding commercial solutions and gets satisfaction from seeing both people and performance improve, we’d love to hear from you.
