Assistant Chief Engineers in our stylish hotel take a proactive, hands-on approach, assisting in overseeing all aspects of maintenance operations to ensure the highest standards are maintained, to create a welcoming and safe environment that consistently exceeds guests' expectations. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing the maintenance team, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Coordinating the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance services.
  • Managing the maintenance budget, including tracking expenses, forecasting future needs, and optimising resource allocation.
  • Overseeing hotel renovations and other projects, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely completion within budget.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices in maintenance operations.
  • Collaborating with other departments to support the overall operation of the hotel and address maintenance-related issues.
  • Maintaining and ordering parts and supplies in a timely and efficient manner while minimising waste and supporting green initiatives.
  • Addressing guest concerns promptly, attentively and efficiently.
  • Coaching, training, and supporting the team to provide consistently high standards while continually seeking improvement.

  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Previous experience using maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • High standard of English, both written and spoken.
