Radis Community Care has an opportunity for Enhanced Intensive Support (EIS) Workers for our new Supported Living Service, in Shipley, Bradford.

About the role

Our Supported Living Service in Shipley is home to 9 young adults with Learning Disabilities and other presenting needs. We support people to live independently and take part in community-based activities such as swimming, going to the cinema and the theatre and to engage in meaningful employment (voluntary or paid). The people we support have a good sense of humour and would benefit from staff with upbeat/chatty personalities.

EIS Workers will provide enhanced intensive support within services to people with a range of presenting needs. Working as part of a team to ensure that the care and support needs of individuals with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, and mental health needs are met. Taking the lead on shift and monitoring staff practice whilst ensuring all daily and weekly tasks are carried out to the highest standard. To mentor and support other team members in the delivery of outstanding care practice.

The role may include manual handling, medication administration, personal care, food preparation, household tasks, supporting individuals to stay connected with family and friends, accessing the community, and attending appointments. We provide support for daily living skills and help support with socialisation. We recognise each person as an individual and provide a unique service which is person centred and tailored to their needs. The role is to promote people’s independence, choice, dignity and respect.

Shifts

Shifts are variable with alternate weekends full time.

Qualifications

Ideally the successful person would have a qualification in health and social care (but this is not essential) or will have worked either in supported living settings with individuals with Learning Disabilities.
