Overview

As a Support Worker in our Extra Care Scheme you will be supporting the elderly who are finding it difficult to cope due to physical frailty, enabling them to maintain their individuality and vital independence. You\\\’ll help the people we support – often with restricted mobility – to move to dining areas at meal times, communal areas for social activities and to the privacy of their bedrooms and bathrooms at their request. You will have the opportunity to take part in physical and mental stimulation by being a part of the recreational and social activities with residents, and as a group. And always with a kind smile and a supportive word, even when sometimes a day is challenging!

Responsibilities

  • Support residents with mobility to move to dining areas, communal areas and to bedrooms/bathrooms as requested.
  • Assist with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing, maintaining privacy and dignity.
  • Participate in recreational and social activities with residents, promoting physical and mental stimulation.
  • Provide care with kindness, compassion and respect as part of the Radis values.

About Radis Community Care and Scheme

Radis Community Care is looking for dedicated and resilient people to work in our brand new Extra Care Scheme Blackberry Court in Lichfield, and also the local community (Outreach). Blackberry Court is a brand-new retirement living community and adjacent bungalows, set within The Maples retirement village in Streethay, near Lichfield. It offers rental apartments and bungalows, as well as communal facilities, for people, aged 55 or over. Established in 2001, Radis Community Care has grown to become a leading provider of community based social care and support for thousands of vulnerable adults and children in England and Wales, focused on supporting people to live independently in their own homes and part of their local communities. We support a range of people including the elderly and people with physical and/or learning disabilities. Tailored to meet the individual needs of the people we support, our support ranges from brief daily visits to 24-hour live-in support and can either be short or long-term.
