Senior Buyer – Procurement Team
Responsible for leading and developing a team of Buyers to achieve, and strive to exceed, business KPI’s of Supplier On Time Delivery and Inventory Reduction.
Reports to the Senior Supply Chain Manager and is part of the Procurement Team located in Redruth – an on‑site role.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of Buyers to achieve departmental goals.
- Work within SAP S4 Hana using the MRP system.
- Apply continuous improvement tools to develop and introduce effective processes.
- Attend weekly site management meetings.
- Conduct regular one‑to‑one meetings with team members.
Qualifications
Strategic Procurement Leadership : Drive procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring cost optimisation, supplier reliability, and risk mitigation.
Team Development & Performance Management : Lead, mentor, and coach a team of buyers to enhance negotiation skills, supplier relationship management and compliance with company policies.
Supplier Relationship : Work with the Supplier Relationship Manager and Supplier Quality Engineer to establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
Data‑Driven Decision Making : Identify cost‑saving opportunities, improve procurement efficiency and support long‑term planning.
Cross‑functional Collaboration : Work with operations, demand planning, and supply chain teams to align procurement activities with production schedules, inventory targets and organisational goals.
- Previous experience in leading teams and in a manufacturing environment.
- Travel & Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to supplier sites as required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
