At SPX Radiodetection, we're looking for a Senior Buyer to work within our Supply Chain team, leading procurement activities for key product lines, managing key accounts, while driving cost reduction, supplier performance and continuous improvement.
This is a highly collaborative role within engineering and projects, where you'll influence sourcing decisions from concept through to production and play a key part in delivering innovative products,
What you'll be doing
- Lead procurement activities for major suppliers.
- Partner closely with PMO & Engineering to support product development and engineering change.
- Manage large RFQ packages and supplier selection.
- Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop sourcing strategies and identify new suppliers.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage supplier performance, quality, delivery and risk.
- Travel to suppliers and other SPX sites as required.
What we're looking for
- Procurement experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience managing engineering & project-based procurement.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience delivering cost reduction and continuous improvement programmes.
- Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills.
- Able to work at pace and manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working closely with engineers and technical teams.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical or electronic components is desirable. xgikmsk
- CIPS qualification (or working towards) is an advantage.
