Job Description
At SPX Radiodetection, we're looking for a Senior Buyer to work alongside our engineering teams, leading procurement activities for new product development while driving cost reduction, supplier performance and continuous improvement.
This is a highly collaborative, project-based role where you'll influence sourcing decisions from concept through to production and play a key part in delivering innovative products.
What you'll be doing Lead procurement activities for NPI projects.
Partner closely with Engineering to support product development and engineering change.
Manage large RFQ packages and supplier selection.
Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop sourcing strategies and identify new suppliers.
Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Manage supplier performance, quality, delivery and risk.
Travel to suppliers and other SPX sites as required.
What we're looking for Procurement experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
Proven experience managing NPI or project-based procurement.
Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
Experience delivering cost reduction and continuous improvement programmes.
Commercially minded with excellent negotiation skills.
Able to work at pace and manage multiple priorities.
Comfortable working closely with engineers and technical teams.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems.
Knowledge of mechanical, electrical or electronic components is desirable.
CIPS qualification (or working towards) is an advantage.
