SPX Radiodetection is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Buyer to join our Bristol team on a fixed-term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting our Purchasing Manager Group Supply Chain Manager and procurement team, helping to drive cost savings, manage projects, and contribute to the development of new products.

What you’ll do:

  • Deputise for the Purchasing Manager Group Supply Chain Manager when required and support daily departmental activities.
  • Lead and contribute to cost reduction initiatives and New Product Introduction projects.
  • Work closely with engineers to guide technical decisions, leveraging your mechanical and electrical expertise.
  • Manage projects and Continuous Improvement activities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Use our ERP system (IFS) and other tools to monitor forecasts, stock levels, and procurement KPIs.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and identify cost-effective sourcing opportunities.
  • Help optimise existing product costs and support strategic supplier engagement.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experienced buyer with rounded technical knowledge – ideally both mechanical and electrical, with a focus on electronics.
  • Strong technical understanding to support engineers and guide product development.
  • Confident in managing NPI projects, cost tracking, and CI initiatives.
  • Proficient with ERP systems (IFS preferred) and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
