This is a critical replacement hire, offering the opportunity to take ownership of high-impact product development projects within a globally connected business.

The Role

Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of new and existing product development projects – from concept through to release and post-launch support. Your first major focus will be leading the UI development of new products across the portfolio, working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and commercial teams.

This role involves:

  • Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Product Management, Purchasing, Sales and Manufacturing
  • Weekly engagement with our manufacturing partner
  • Collaboration with suppliers and colleagues at other sites
  • Driving clear governance, risk management and change control
  • Contributing to ongoing improvements within the PMO framework

You will operate across both technical and commercial stakeholders, primarily within Engineering, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget.

What Success Looks Like

Within 6–12 months you will have:

  • Successfully delivered new UI programmes across key product lines
  • Built strong working relationships across Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing and Supply Chain
  • Demonstrated strong budget ownership and cost control

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience within hardware/new product development environments
  • Exposure to firmware development and/or manufacturing engineering
  • Proven experience managing budgets (£1m–£3m)
  • Strong change control and cost management capability
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence (able to navigate boards and extract key information)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills – able to influence both up and down
  • Experience working with globally dispersed teams and being able to travel for work

About You

You are:

  • Comfortable challenging where necessary to drive delivery
  • Strong with people and able to build credibility quickly
  • Process-driven but pragmatic
  • Confident managing multiple priorities in a complex engineering environment
